Erasmus+ Programme University of Pitesti & Marwadi University
Marwadi University, India and the University of Pitesti, Romania announced that this year faculty and students are going to visit the University of Pitesti under Erasmus+ programme in the 3rd quarter of 2018. The Erasmus+ Programme (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) is a European Union (EU) student exchange programme established in 1987.
Prof. Emanuel Soare (Vice Rector-International Relations – University of Pitesti) proposed that in the next cycle too students and faculty members from Marwadi University under Erasmus+ Students & Staff Mobility programme will visit the university.
Under Erasmus+ Student Mobility programme participating students will complete thirty credits in one semester at the University of Pitesti, the same credits will be reflected at Marwadi University, and in addition they will also receive a grant of up to 3500 Euros individually to cover their travel and accommodation expenses.
The University of Pitesti, founded in 1962 is one of the oldest universities in Romania with 10,000 students. In over 50 years of its existence in the Romanian university space it has become a name of recognition as a source of skilled human resource, prepared in a formula of excellence for the local, national and international labor market. The University of Pitesti provides free and coordinated access to modern education, folded on the needs and realities of the European socio-economic environment.
Hon. Prof. Dr. R. B. Jadeja (Dean – Faculty of Engineering) and Prof. Dr. Amit Ved (HoD – Electrical Engineering) from Marwadi University visited University of Pitesti in January 2018 as part of first phase of Staff Mobility. Joint proposals for project submission to EU, Joint Conferences, Joint research articles and Joint Master Programmes were also discussed during their visit. Also, at the end of the first half of the year, Prof. Dr. Nikunj Rachchh (HoD – Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Dr. Amit Sata (HoD – Mechanical Engineering) will also be visiting the university.
The Erasmus+ Programme of Marwadi University along with University of Pitesti was announced. As a part of the same programme, Prof. Dr. Mihai Oproescu and Prof. Dr. Vasile-Gabriel Lana from University of Pitesti (Romania) visited Marwadi University from 22nd to 28th April 2018. During their stay, they taught the engineering students (ME) of Marwadi University and also interacted on various technologies and developments in the engineering and teaching industries.
The Erasmus+ programme will combine all the current schemes of EU for education, training, youth and sport, which was started in January 2014 and will continue till 2020. It is believed that education, training, youth, and sport can make a major contribution to help tackle socio-economic changes, the key challenges that Europe will be facing until the end of the decade. This programme will support the implementation of the European policy agenda for growth, jobs, equity, and social inclusion.
