The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. IoT has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and the Internet.
IoT has a lot of applications which in some cases can be lifesaving. IoT is still in its developmental stages and is mainly concentrated in the manufacturing industry where communication is machine-to- machine. Some of the lifesaving situations where IoT can really help are Emergency Treatment, Accident Zones, Assisted Living, Smart Living, and many more.
IoT can help us to lead a happy and comfortable life. We need to move from just the industrial application to the cases which will help a Common Man.
