Marwadi University Awarded “Param Shavak” by Gujarat Government

With great pride and pleasure, we would like to announce that the Gujarat state government has bestowed Marwadi University with the indigenous supercomputer ‘Param Shavak’ to boost our educational development. And this makes Marwadi University one among the few handfuls of universities in Gujarat, which has the facility of a Supercomputer. We highly appreciate the opportunity that has been presented to us with the forthcoming of Supercomputer at our campus.

What is Param Shavak??

As per the CDAC, Param Shavak is an affordable supercomputing solution in a box, which aims at providing computational resource (Capacity building) with advanced technologies to perform high-end computations for scientific, engineering, and academic programs to address and catalyse the research using modelling, simulation, and data analysis.

Future Prospects of Supercomputer at Marwadi University

With the arrival of Supercomputer, Marwadi University aims at rendering support with advanced technologies to perform high-end computations for scientific, engineering, and academic programs to address and analyse the research using modelling, simulation, and data analysis. To make the most use out of the Supercomputer and to benefit the students, we have already initiated a few steps to partner with national and international universities, government institutions, and industry research organizations, such as the University of Rhode Island, USA, amongst others.

The Supercomputer will promote high-end calculations and research work in the field of AI, CE/IT, ICT, ML. We believe that this marvellous technology will support our students, faculties, and researchers, to develop solutions and advanced products, with huge scope to target sectors like Manufacturing, Energy and Utilities, Healthcare, Transportation, Public safety, NLP, etc.

On this historical moment, the Vice-chancellor of Marwadi University, Dr. Y. P. Kosta, said, “MU is looking forward to promoting the paradigm where AI and computational researchers across other fields work in close collaboration with each other. Setting up of such facilities will foster cross-sectoral collaboration at scale.”

He further added, “Medical researchers and computer scientists may collaborate to uncover the application advanced tech to focus upon complex medical issues, thereby making real actionable data available in the process.”
