THERMAL ENGINEERING (MTECH)
Overview
The programme is designed to equip students to perform design related to steady state/ transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, multi phase flows, fluid structure interactions, estimation of thermal and pressure loads and coupled field analysis. The programme provides required numerical simulation techniques for design and analysis of equipments like gas turbines and accessories, steam turbines and reactor pipes, heat exchangers, compressors, turbines, pumps, propellers, rotor stator interactions, flow separators, inlet manifolds, volutes, turbo chargers etc. The course also introduces the student to experimental techniques like flow visualization, combustion diagnostics, particle characterization and other recent imaging techniques adopted in the field of thermal research.

HOD's Message
HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering
To ensure continuous growth, our focus is always on three major pillars: developing successful students, maintaining research excellence, and contributing to economic output and development.
Through investment in campus resources, a focus on entrepreneurial ventures, a strong connection with industry partners, and a drive to innovate, the University has been very successful at advancing our three pillars; and giving out a strong return on investment to the country and the world at large. Together with the opportunities in India, it is the best of times for engineering to play a more central role. It is our responsibility to provide solutions to global challenges and nurture leaders to embrace the advantages of technology advancement for the benefit of humankind and the planet.
