TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING (MTECH)
Overview
Transportation Engineering is a special branch of Civil Engineering which focuses on the various modes of Transportation that includes roadways, bridges, railways, marine ways and air ways. It is involved with analysis and design of the transportation routes for men and material movements. The scope is not limited to only design of the Transportation routes but it also includes design of the signaling, traffic management as well as pavement materials for Transportation. It is also concerned with developing the new materials for construction of bituminous, concrete roads as well as railway sleepers and runway design. The students pursuing this course study ideas and various research methods to smooth, safe and fast means of any mode of Transportation. The tunnels, bridges, metro, BRTS, Mono rail with environmental concerns etc are a part and parcel of this engineering. Further, it also includes the repair and rehabilitation of the distressed roads, railways and bridges. With the increase in infrastructure demand all over the world including India, professionals with Transportation Engineering are in high demand in Core companies, MNC consultancy firms, Government sectors, Road construction, Railways and Bridge construction as well as in academics and R & D sectors.

Marwadi University is located on Rajkot-Morbi Road. You can take a city bus to Madhapar Chowk and from there, a Rickshaw Ride will drop you to Marwadi University which is a landmark known by all local drivers. It is 10 km from Bus Station, 12 km from Airport, and 10 km from Railway Station. You can easily find it on Google Maps if you want to self-drive to the University.

Q. What all Documents are necessary to bring in while joining the University ?
While you come for admissions, you need to carry your HSC and SSC results, school leaving certificate, JEE score card & registration slip (ACPC). We advise you to keep originals along with photocopies of the same. If you are taking admissions for a Master’s degree, you need to also keep the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and Marksheet, and any other examination’s scorecard if applicable along with the previously mentioned documents.
