The Master of Laws (LL.M.) Programme at the Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, is designed to provide advanced and specialized legal education.The programme aims to deepen conceptual understanding and promote critical analysis of contemporary legal issues.It offers focused study in emerging and core areas of law, encouraging research-oriented and interdisciplinary learning.The curriculum is structured in accordance with UGC guidelines with an emphasis on doctrinal, analytical, and comparative approaches. Students are trained in legal research methodology, academic writing, and policy analysis.The programme fosters scholarly engagement through seminars, presentations, and dissertations.Experienced faculty members mentor students to develop independent legal thinking and expertise.The LL.M. programme prepares graduates for careers in academia, research, litigation, policy-making, and advanced legal practice.

Career Opportunities

Lawyer / Solicitor / Litigation

For those students who want to stay independent can pursue Litigation as a career option. They can also take up practice without visiting courts, like lawyers specializing in drafting and executing various contracts.

Civil Services / Judiciary

Law is an excellent option for students who are planning to appear for Civil Services and other Competitive Exams. Law also gives an exciting avenue of becoming a Judge by appearing for competitive exams conducted by UPSC or State Level Public Service Commission.

Law Firms

India will be opening doors to foreign law firms very shortly. This will bring a major increase in job opportunities for a law student.

Intellectual Property Rights Attorney

In today’s world where knowledge is freely available on the Internet, it has become very important to protect inventions and innovations. Aspects like Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights are very important and therefore there is a huge scope of Intellectual Property Rights Attorney. Students having a Science background can have a definite advantage as an Intellectual Property Rights Attorney.

Corporate Counsel (Private / Government)

Most of the companies require legal professionals on a daily basis because of the increase in laws that require regular compliance. The company faces multiple legal issues on a day to day basis and therefore most of the companies have a team of in-house Counsels who advise the management regarding multiple legal issues.

Academia / Higher Studies

There is a huge increase in law students pursuing legal education which has resulted in an increase in Law Schools. Those who are interested in teaching can pursue a career in academics after completing a Master’s Degree in Law.

Company Secretary

Law students can also get a distinct advantage if they want to pursue the Company Secretary Course. Many papers in the Company Secretary Examination are directly focused on different commercial laws.

NGOs

Many national & international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are working on improving communities and promoting wider participation of citizens. It is not only providing services to the people but also a lucrative platform to work and enhance one’s career at national and international level. Law students have better career choices in this area as many NGOs are working in the legal field.

Legal Publishing / Law Reporting (Media)

Media houses regularly cover important decisions of various courts and for the same they require reporters who understand the intricacies of law and provide analysis of the judgments. Many journals are published only for lawyers, like ‘All India Reporter (AIR)’. Professionals with law degrees are also required by such journals.

Legal Process Outsourcing

Legal Process Outsourcing is similar to Business Process Outsourcing that is expanding in India. Professionals generally work on contracts and cases from countries like the USA and UK.

2. Legal Aid Committee

The Legal Aid Committee’s goal is to make legal knowledge accessible and meaningful to everyone. Through seminars with IPS officers and civil servants, we inspire students to engage with real social issues. By organizing NukkadNataks, jail visits, and running our Legal Aid Clinic, we strive to spread awareness, extend support to those in need, and nurture a sense of social responsibility among students.

3. Debate and MUN Committee

The Debate and MUN Committee fosters a thriving democratic spirit by encouraging open debates, dialogues, and discussions. It provides a platform for students to freely express their thoughts and sharpen their oratory skills. The committee nurtures an environment where constructive exchanges can grow and inspire change. It goes beyond textbooks, promoting freedom of speech, dissent, and dialogue on key social issues. The committee's main goal is to establish a structured platform that enhances law students' research skills through academic support and guidance. The initiative promotes ethical research practices, critical thinking, and scholarly rigor among students.

5. NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE

The Newsletter Committee’s ‘Insightium’ aims to document the academic, professional, and global accomplishments of the Faculty of Law, thereby fostering a dynamic intellectual discourse that connects contemporary jurisprudence with emerging scholarship. Insightium recognizes the diverse perspectives and achievements that characterize the Faculty of Law’s commitment to excellence.

6. SOCIAL MEDIA COMMITTEE

The Social Media Committee’s mission is to effectively promote the achievements, events, and activities of the Faculty of Law while showcasing student talent and keeping the university community connected through informative, creative, and timely social media communication.

7. SPORTS COMMITTEE

The Sports Committee focuses on holistic development, promoting a balanced and active life through physical activity and academic rigor. Its core aim is to boost student engagement and sportsmanship by organizing diverse intramural events and competitive tournaments (Cricket, Volleyball, Chess, Basketball). These events build teamwork, discipline, and community. They also identify and support top athletic talent for success in inter-collegiate and state-level competitions.

The Internship Committee identifies and offers diverse legal internships aligned with students' interests and career goals. It provides career guidance and professional readiness training, including CV preparation and interview skills. The Committee ensures transparent, merit-based internship allocation for equal opportunities. It also encourages internships in social justice and public interest sectors.

10. CULTURAL COMMITTEE

The Cultural Committee promotes creativity, inclusivity, and student engagement through diverse cultural and literary activities. It organises events, festivals, and competitions that celebrate diversity and talent. The committee encourages teamwork, confidence, and holistic development alongside academics.

11. ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION COMMITTEE

The ADR Committee focuses on developing practical dispute-resolution skills in mediation, arbitration, negotiation, and conciliation. It conducts workshops, training programmes, expert lectures, and competitions. The committee bridges theory and practice to prepare ethically grounded and skilled future professionals.

12. PRO BONO CLUB

The Pro Bono Club is dedicated to fostering a spirit of social responsibility and access to justice among students. It engages members in legal aid initiatives, community outreach, and awareness programmes. The club encourages students to apply legal knowledge for the service and empowerment of society.
