After the recognition of the Faculty of Pharmacy department at Marwadi University by Pharmacy Council of India, our faculty is poised to make enormous strides in meeting specific needs of both students and the community, exploring new frontiers in drug discovery, development, pharmaceutical sciences, and translational clinical research. Being a constituent department of Marwadi University, providing the highest standards of education has been our constant endeavor.

Dr. Lalji Baldania is an esteemed Professor and the Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy at our university. With a profound dedication to advancing pharmaceutical education and research, Dr. Baldania has garnered several prestigious awards and honors throughout his career. Notably, he was honored with the Young Pharmacy Teacher Award at the National Level Pharmacist Awards 2017 ceremony hosted by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Anantapuramu Local Branch. His pedagogical prowess was recognized with the Pedagogical Innovation Award during the 6th GTU Innovation Sankul Day Celebration in 2017, an accolade presented by the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Innovation Council (GIC). Additionally, Dr. Baldania received the esteemed IPA ACG – SciTech Innovation Award in 2016 for his groundbreaking research in Solid dosage form development. His innovative work, titled “Novel use of emulsion form of a binder for improving the quality and performance characteristic of the finished dosage form,” earned him this prestigious accolade, which includes a memento and a cash prize of INR 50,000. Dr. Baldania’s contributions to the field of pharmacy education and research are invaluable, making him an integral part of our academic community. With a profound commitment to pioneering research in pharmaceutical sciences, Dr. Baldania has garnered numerous accolades and research grants to support his groundbreaking work. Notably, he secured a research grant from NewGen IEDC, BIRAC-SRISTI, and GUJCOST. He has been involved in several patented inventions and disclosures, showcasing his pioneering spirit and dedication to advancing pharmaceutical technology. Among his notable inventions are the Dual-Chamber Prefilled syringe, an immediate-release tablet composition of telmisartan, a novel pelletization process, a unique drug delivery device for pulmonary administration of drugs in animals, child-resistant packaging for pharmaceutical solid dosage forms, and a co-processed excipient for release retardation.

Dr. Vadia obtained both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from M. S. University of Baroda, located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. With over 17 years of expertise spanning academia, research, and industry, Dr. Vadia boasts an extensive portfolio of national and international publications, book chapters, proceedings, and presentations. He has successfully secured research grants from esteemed institutions such as GUJCOST, SSIP, Seed Money Project, and IQAC of various universities. Notably, Dr. Vadia’s pioneering work has resulted in a patented innovation through SSIP, Saurashtra University, showcasing his groundbreaking contributions to Pharmaceutical Formulation Development and the Synthesis of Novel Anticancer Molecules. His research interests encompass Mesoporous-based Nanoparticulate Drug Delivery Systems, Analytical and Bioanalytical Method Development and Validation, Standardization of Herbal Drug Formulations, Nutraceutical Formulation Development, Drug Regulation, and Documentation. Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Vadia has mentored over 45 Master’s students and guided 2 PhD scholars, exemplifying his dedication to nurturing the next generation of scholars in the field.

Dr. Ramesh Parmar holds the position of Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and has 18 years of experience. Dr. Parmar has authored 27 research and review papers in both international and national journals. Additionally, he has showcased his research findings through the presentation of numerous papers at various international and national conferences, both as an author and co-author. Dr. Parmar’s expertise extends to the development of Innovative Drug Delivery Systems, including Nanotechnology-based systems, Enhancements for Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs, Controlled Drug Delivery for Ocular Applications, and Self-emulsifying and Modified Release Semisolid Products. Dr. Parmar has mentored 56 B. Pharm and 48 M. Pharm students in their dissertation work, while also serving as an approved Ph.D. guide. Dr. Parmar has authored five books published by LAP Publisher, Germany, and has secured research funding from prestigious institutes including GUJCOST and Seed money projects. He remains an active member of professional bodies such as APP and APTI.

He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Guwahati (NIPER-G), where he specialized in the development of engineered delivery systems using 3D printing techniques for pharmaceutical applications. Dr. Choudhury has also held research roles, including a Senior Project Associate position at CSIR-IndianInstituteofChemical Technology, focusing on lipid nanocarriers for treating pulmonary fibrosis.Dr. Choudhury has published his research work in high-impact international research journals and presented his work on several national andinternational platforms through oral and poster presentations.His research interestsinclude 3D printing, hydrogel, nanoformulation, nanocomposite, and solid dispersion.
