Awards and Recognitions
  • ASSOCHAM GEM5 Sustainability Rating: Marwadi University received the highest possible rating (GEM5) under the ASSOCHAM GEM Sustainability Certification Program. This recognition was based on the university’s green campus initiatives, including a 650 kW rooftop solar system, sewage treatment plant, rainwater harvesting systems, and a mass transportation system.
  • One District One Green Champion’ Award: The university was honoured with this award by the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) for its commitment to sustainability and impactful environmental advocacy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Green Campus Initiatives: Marwadi University’s campus is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring energy-efficient buildings, extensive green spaces, and facilities that promote environmental conservation
  • Solar Module manufacturing: PIXON energy is part of Marwadi University, the top solar panel manufacturers in India,forefront of promoting eco-friendly energy, contributing significantly to the nation’s green energy goals, with a 1 GW fully automated Solar Module Manufacturing facility. Pixon energy recognized as a “Top 10 Solar Panel Manufacturer” by Industry Outlook, received the “Solar Company of the Year: Module (Rising Star)” award from Solar Quarter, and were acknowledged as a leader in Clean Tech by the International Trade Council. We were also named the leading Solar Module Manufacturing Company in India by Innovative Zone.
  • Rainwater Harvesting: Multiple systems have been implemented, such as surface runoff harvesting, percolation pits, recharge wells, and storage tanks, enhancing water conservation efforts.
  • Renewable Energy: The campus utilizes solar panels, generating significant energy to reduce reliance on non-renewable sources.
Inclusive Infrastructure
  • Accessibility: Over 80% of campus buildings are equipped with lifts/ramps, specially designed toilets, and provisions for walking aids, ensuring accessibility for physically challenged students
Waste Management and Recycling
  • Waste Reduction: Comprehensive recycling infrastructure is in place, including bins, awareness programs, and collection systems. In the 2023–24 academic year, the university generated 547,500 kg of waste, with 383,250 kg recycled / reused.
  • Biogas Generation: Food waste amounting to 255,500 kg was converted into biogas, producing 10,220 kWh of energy, showcasing effective waste-to-energy practices.
Sustainable Transportation
  • Eco-Friendly Transport: The university use sustainable transportation options, including public transportation subsidies, bicycle-sharing programs, EV cars, electric vehicle charging stations, carpooling incentives, EV cart and pedestrian-friendly pathways.
Community Engagement and Future Plans
  • Low-Cost Sustainable Housing Projects: Marwadi University is pursuing projects focused on developing low-cost homes emphasizing renewable energy and sustainable architecture, aiming to provide affordable and eco-friendly housing solutions.
