Introduction

The sporting, fitness, and leisure facilities on campus are extensive. Sporting facilities include Cricket, Hockey, Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis and Table Tennis. An athletics track, as well as a multipurpose sports arena and facilities for other indoor games, is proposed. MU has drawn plans to organize various intra and inter-college competitions and tournaments in all games and sports activities every year. These include Athletics Track and Field events such as race, long/high jumps, shot-put, javelin throw, discus throw etc. and numerous football, volley-ball, cricket matches and chess and carrom contests. Those who excel in sports activities are given various awards, prizes, medals, and certificates.

01 Fitness Club

Fitness Club spreads awareness and organizes workshops of different themes to encourage students to take part in physical activities.

02 School of Yoga

The school of yoga is positioned to help the staff and students to manage stress and pressure which prevails in the professional world and to promote emotional wellness. Flexibility and improved strength, enhancement of the immune system and improved balance and postural alignment are few of the targets of School of Yoga.

03 Sports and Co-curricular Activities

As a part of holistic development, MU is conducting various adventure and recreational activities like spiritual talk, meditation, camp of art of living, mountaineering and trekking activities.

04 Open Elective and PHD

The University recognizes the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Our curriculum offers a unique open elective course, “Wellness and Fitness,” that empowers students to develop a deeper understanding of healthy living practices and fitness principles. This credit-bearing course provides valuable insights into maintaining physical and mental well-being, complementing the practical skills gained through our workshops and competitions.
Furthermore, the department fosters advanced research opportunities through our Ph.D. Scholars program, nurturing future leaders in the field of sports science and physical education.

05 Sports Quota

This category is intended for the two percent of seats that are available in each course. Sports-related benefits are not permitted for applicants who did not apply for admission under the designated sports category.
The only games, events, and sports that candidates requesting admission under the sports category will be given consideration are those that are part of the Olympic, Asian, or Commonwealth Games that immediately precede the year of admission.
100% scholarship on tuition fee waiver for international sports participation; Their sole expenses are accommodation and food.
75% scholarship on tuition fees waiver for medalists at the national level; 50% scholarship on tuition fee waiver for participation at the national level; 20% scholarship on tuition fee waiver for medalists at the state level; and 10% fee waiver for participation at the state level.

Students Achievements

The Women’s Cricket Team of Marwadi University, Marwadi Marvels, won the Top Champions League (TCL) Season 1 held in Rajkot during June, 2022

Marwadi Students won the 1st prize in Volleyball Tournament in Khel Mahakumbh District Level competition.

National Para Swimming Championship, Our MBA Student, Jigar Thakkar, won 1 Gold and 2 Silver Medals at the 21st Competition held at Udaipur.

Ms Shayona Hirpara (BBA Hons Student of Marwadi University) won Gold Medal in the National Level Competition of Second Open National Taekwondo Championship 2017. The competition was held in Malda, West Bengal. It was a 2 days event in which around 450+ students participated from all over India and among these students, 40 students were from Gujarat.

Training for this competition had been taken under the guidance of Mr S. Vishwanathan who is 2nd Dan Black Belt and has 30 years of experience. He is a Judge and Referee in the various National and International competitions.
