Introduction

To reach the aim of holistic development with practical learning, infrastructural facilities of advanced laboratory is important. These labs give students the exposure and understanding of practical working in the industry. We keep on working towards developing state of the art labs with all the necessary equipment and configuration to aid students in their learning. All these labs are well-maintained, updated, and open for student learning and exposure.

All these labs are well-maintained, updated, and open for student learning and exposure.

Mechatronics Lab

We have built a state of the art Mechatronics Lab for the control, system dynamics and design challenges associated with the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology and robotics. This lab is being built at an outlay of Rs. 3 Crores and is one of its kind in the state of Gujarat.

Bosch Lab

We have set up an ultramodern lab in association with Bosch Roxorth. The centre imparts training to undergraduate, post graduate, polytechnic, vocational schools’ students to meet industry requirements, bridging the industry-academic gap and enhancing the competency levels of students for better employability. The centre will also train faculty members of all nearby engineering colleges in the region and the students will be awarded a joint certificate of Bosch Rexroth and MEFGI.

CNC/VMC Lab

We have the latest VMC machine with as many as nine signature heads, and students are provided live training in the lab. The equipment in the lab is industry grade and easily available for the students.

Workshop Labs

Our workshop is spread over 10000 square feet space and provides students with an experience of the real world to practice and explore new designs, real time modeling & skilling that leads to experiential learning and concept validation.

Library and E-Resource Centre

We have a huge collection of books and documents predominantly related to engineering, computers, information technology, management sciences and its allied subjects. In addition, a library is powered with the latest academic electronic databases. The vision is to develop an unmatched comprehensive collection of information resources that is used for academic and research purposes.

We have 2000 sq. meters of library space, with a seating capacity of approx 600 persons spread over 3 floors. It is equipped with RFID enabled, open source – ILS KOHA software based comprehensive information system. We have multimedia discussion chambers that help facilitate information retrieval, sharing and conferencing for academic and research purposes in micro-groups for enhanced learning and knowledge sharing experiences.

ICT Capabilities

The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled and networked with 190 MBPS internet connectivity. We have distributed kiosks’ having state of the art computer & data centre, simulations laboratories and high end specialty software.

NABL Accredited Civil Engineering Lab

Marwadi Univeristy’s Civil Engineering Material Testing Laboratory has been granted the accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in the disciplines of Mechanical Testing as per the scope and authorised signatories recommended by the assessment team of NABL

Computers, Networks and Internet Facilities

Modern Computer Labs with computers of latest configuration and peripherals are established at the Campus for the students and other academia. The total computer density, considering computers provided in all the labs of Campus, is 1000+. The campus has always been a leader in employing new – generation computers for the use of students. When Computers with Hyper threading processors from Intel were introduced, MEFGI was the first Campus to have installation of 75 Computers in one go. Recently, when Computers with Dual Core Processors from Intel were introduced, again the MEFGI has taken the lead in deploying the same for the students. The other unique feature of Computer usage has been the use of branded PCs from leading global brands. IBM, DELL and HP machines are provided in the labs to expose students to different brands and technology.

The Campus is currently having Internet connectivity of 250 MBPS bandwidth through Fibre Optic Cable. A wireless RF link is also established as a standby. The Internet facilities are made available to staff and students for 24 hrs round the year.

All the computers at the Campus are networked through Star topology configuration. Two IBM servers with dual Xeon processors have been employed for networking. One of the servers is used for central data storage. It also supports Internet facilities for internal E- communication and the other is used as the main server.
