Lawyer / Solicitor / Litigation

For those students who want to stay independent can pursue Litigation as a career option. They can also take up practice without visiting courts, like lawyers specializing in drafting and executing various contracts.

Civil Services / Judiciary

Law is an excellent option for students who are planning to appear for Civil Services and other Competitive Exams. Law also gives an exciting avenue of becoming a Judge by appearing for competitive exams conducted by UPSC or State Level Public Service Commission.

In today’s world where knowledge is freely available on the Internet, it has become very important to protect the inventions and innovations. Aspects like Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights are very important and therefore there is a huge scope of Intellectual Property Rights Attorney. Students having a Science background can have a definite advantage as an Intellectual Property Rights Attorney.

Corporate Counsel (Private / Government)

Most of the companies require legal professionals on a daily basis because of the increase in laws that require regular compliance. The company faces multiple legal issues on a day to day basis and therefore most of the companies have a team of in-house Counsels who advise management regarding multiple legal issues.

Academia / Higher Studies

There is a huge increase in law students pursuing legal education which has resulted in an increase in Law Schools. Those who are interested in teaching can pursue a career in academics after completing a Master’s Degree in Law.

Company Secretary

Law students can also get a distinct advantage if they want to pursue the Company Secretary Course. Many papers in the Company Secretary Examination are directly focused on different commercial laws.

NGOs

Many national & international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are working on improving communities and promoting wider participation of citizens. It is not only providing services to the people but also a lucrative platform to work and enhance one’s career at national and international level. Law students have better career choices in this area as many NGOs are working in the legal field.

Legal Publishing / Law Reporting (Media)

Media houses regularly cover important decisions of various courts and for the same they require reporters who understand the intricacies of law and provide analysis of the judgments. Many journals are published only for lawyers, like ‘All India Reporter (AIR)’. Professionals with law degrees are also required by such journals.

Legal Process Outsourcing

Legal Process Outsourcing is similar to Business Process Outsourcing that is expanding in India. Professionals generally work on contracts and cases from countries like the USA and UK.

Moot Court

We, at Faculty of Law, Marwadi University are committed to a show of cooperative and collective resilience. Hence, after the successful completion of 1st edition, we have planned to organize the 2nd National Moot Court Competition to provide an environment where aspiring lawyers can enhance their legal proficiencies and mooting skills with a unique concept. Keeping our uniqueness, the participation will be restricted to 1st year bona-fide law students enrolled in the 5-year integrated programme and 3 years LLB programme with the aim to inspire, promote and inculcate drafting & writing techniques, orating skills, and high focus research acumen in 1st year law students. The competition strives to give a platform to the budding lawyers of our country to imbibe analytical skills in real-time situations. The aim is to engage with students and allow them to have first-hand experience of the complexities of law.‎

Welcome to Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, an institution aspiring to be the Centre of Excellence for imparting quality legal education in the ever changing global scenario. Faculty of Law, Marwadi University endeavors to be an institution of global excellence in legal education, training, and research for the advancement of rule of law and justice. With a mission to prepare legal professionals with ethical values, substantive knowledge, and practical skills they need to become effective advocates of justice and rule of law. I am feeling privileged to be a Founder Dean of this institution after serving for more than a decade in various institutions across India and gaining knowledge and skills required to establish an institution of excellence. The Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, owes its success to the resolute leadership of Dr. Rhishikesh Dave. An LLM and Ph.D. degree holder, Dr. Dave has won many accolades including a Doctoral Scholarship from ‘The Hague Academy of International Law’ and ‘Academic Excellence Award in Legal Desire Summit & Awards 2018’. He was the former Dean of a prestigious institute like NMIMS University – School of Law and Galgotias University – School of Law, Associate Prof. at Nirma& Registrar at GNLU. Apart from this, he has played key roles in organizing moot court competitions and workshops and served as the Faculty Advisor at ILNU, Centre of International Humanitarian Law Studies.

Designation: Associate Professor
Dr. Rahul Nikam is an Associate Professor of Law at Marwadi University, specializing in Corporate Law with an LL.M. from NALSAR University of Law. Holding a Ph.D. in IPR Protection to Space Activities from the same institution, Dr. Nikam is a distinguished academic with a focus on Law & Technology, Aerospace Law, and International Trade Law. He teaches subjects such as Law of Contract, Corporate and Business Laws, and International Trade Law. His commitment to academic excellence is evident through the successful organization of numerous National and International Moot Court Competitions and Conferences, making him an invaluable asset.

N. Bangkim Singh has completed M.Phil&Ph.D (Sociology). He remained an ICSSR doctoral fellow. He has teaching experience of more than 12 years. He has many research articles and book publications; and also participated in many national and international conferences. He is working as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law, Marwadi University.

Mr. Prantik Basak is an Assistant Professor with over 2 years of experience. He qualified NET in Political Science (2019) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Student Politics from RBU, Kolkata. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Calcutta, and is a former Don Lavoie Fellow from Mercatus Centre, George Mason University, USA. With a keen interest in research, Mr. Basak currently holds four ISBN book chapter publications and four ISSN journal publications along with multiple online publications. His academic interest areas include contemporary Indian politics, Western political thought and political sociology.

Mr.Kalrav Krishna Tripathi is an Assistant Professor of Law with more than 5 years of experience in teaching and 1 year of practice as an Advocate. He completed his Graduation and Master’s in Law from RGNUL, Patiala, and is pursuing his PhD from HPNLU, Shimla. As an Assistant Professor of Law, he has taught a wide range of courses, including Contracts, Family Law and Criminal Laws. As an Advocate, he gained valuable experience in litigation, including drafting pleadings, appearing in court, and conducting legal research. His practice primarily focused on criminal law matters.

CA. Manasi Shah proudly serves as an Assistant Professor within the Faculty of Law. Hailing from India’s financial capital Mumbai, she brings to our institution a unique blend of expertise as a Chartered Accountant. She has nearly 7 years of teaching experience across different institutes, which is firmly rooted in the realm of teaching Accounting and Finance courses. Her teaching philosophy revolves around creating an interactive and engaging classroom environment.

Currently finalising her PhD in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Ms.Tripti completed her masters and MPhil from JNU. Her interest areas include gender, race, international relations, government and politics. She has presented at international and national conferences and has a publication on the topic ‘Comparative study of women’s representation in politics: Case of Canada and India’.

Mr.Aviral Thakre is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law. He holds a law graduate degree from Nirma University, Hyderabad. His interests revolve majorly around Criminal Law and Constitutional Laws. He has won the 17th JustaCausa Moot Competition representing ILNU. Currently, he teaches criminal law, criminal justice and corporate law. He also conducts moot training and guides students to be a great mooter while enhancing their legal skills.

She serves as an Assistant Professor, contributing to the academic landscape of psychology. Lakshmi is known for her emphasis on emotional intelligence, both in her clinical practice and academic endeavours. (OYC) with specialization in Criminal Law from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. Mr.Rajawat is pursuing Ph.D. in Law from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. His research area includes Sports Law and Criminal Law. Mr.Rajawat has more than five years of experience in academics. Mr.Rajawat is a researcher in the European Union’s Erasmus+ Project on Curricula Development on Climate Change Policy and Law. Mr.Rajawat has many publications to his credit. Mr.Rajawat has edited books titled “Issues and Challenges in Law Relating to Sports in India”, “Sports & Entertainment Law” Published by Taxmann Publications. Mr.Rajawat is an editor of various International and National Journals. In leadership roles, she contributes to the University Women Cell, promoting inclusivity, and serves as Member-Secretary for the Centre for Civic Engagement, emphasizing community engagement. Ms. Sukhbir Kaur completed her graduation and post-graduation in Commerce from Panjab University. She worked as a guest lecturer in Commerce at S.D College for Women, Moga. She was a recipient of the Don Lavoie Fellowship granted by Mercatus Centre, George Mason University, USA. She cleared NET (JRF) in Commerce in 2022 with AIR 79 and joined Presidency University as a PhD researcher in Economics in February 2023. She has a keen interest in the areas of corporate finance, international finance, sustainable finance and corporate governance and boasts quality publications in these areas.

Ms. Divyanshi Shrivastava, is currently working as an assistant professor of Law in Marwadi University. She is a gold medalist and has pursued her academics from NLU Nagpur. She has qualified UGC NET in 2023. She has authored various research papers in renowned journals of NLS Banglore, NLU Orissa, CUSAT Kochi, DSNLU, DNLU Jabalpur, Bar and Bench, Manupatra etc. She has enormous internship experience of interning under leading firms like Fox Mandal, Kaden Borris and chambers of GeetaLuthra. She has also been a research intern under Hon’ble Justice L. Nageswara Rao, Supreme Court of India. She has been constantly working towards a stellar career in Law, with a zest for research and writing. Degree in Corporate and IP Laws from Faculty of Law, JagranLakecity University, Bhopal. She was awarded Rank Certificate for securing 1 st Rank in the Batch of 2017-2018 of LL.M. in the 4 th Convocation of JagranLakecity University, Bhopal. She is currently pursuing her Ph. D from Faculty of Law, JagranLakecity University. Ms.Rakhe also holds Diploma Course on ‘Cyber Laws’ administered by Government Law College, Mumbai and Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune, Certificate Course on ‘Intellectual Property Rights & Information Technology in the Internet Age’ from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi and a Certificate Course on ‘Human Rights’ from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.Ms.Rakhe has many publications in form of research papers and chapters to her credit. Born in Zambia, Mr. Bright Phiri embarked on a journey driven by a passion for law. After completing his Bachelor’s in Zambia and Master’s in Law in India, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Law scholar while also working as a Teaching Assistant cum Research Associate in faculty of law at Marwadi University. With his international background, he brings diverse perspectives to his academic endeavours, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural understanding.

Designation: Professor of Practice
Rodney D. Ryder is a partner with Scriboard; a full service law firm with an intellectual property, technology and media specialist practice. He is the author of Guide to Cyber Laws: the Information Technology Act, 2000, E-Commerce, Data Protection and the Internet, the first section-wise analysis of the Indian Information Technology Act, 2000. He is presently Advisor to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India on the implementation of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Mr. Ryder is also an Adjunct Professor [legal management] to the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow [IIML], the Fore School of Management, New Delhi [FSM] and the Amity Business School [ABS].
