Being one of the biggest festivals of India, Diwali or Deepavali is a time when friends and family get together for a fiesta! Explore more here!

Why opt for eco-friendly Diwali?

We understand that Diwali comes once a year but this is no excuse to behave in an irresponsible manner with the environment. ‘Sustainability of the Environment’ is a serious problem in today’s world and you must take measures to save it. Remember, every small step taken will contribute to the preservation of the environment up to a significant extent.

Thus, by observing ‘Eco-friendly Diwali’, you will be able to tackle the issues of environmental pollution along with the following listed issues:

  • Air pollution and Noise pollution: The chemical crackers you usually buy are made from life-threatening chemicals. These crackers cause Air pollution and Noise pollution as well. In fact, during Diwali, the pollutant concentrations in the air were found to be 6.44 times higher (for SPM or Suspended Particulate Matter). Furthermore, high decibels of noise and concentration of pollutants can be highly dangerous for infants, elderly people, and people suffering from chronic diseases such as Asthma.
  • Land pollution: Land pollution increases significantly during Diwali due to the use of plastics for home décor and crackers for bursting. Such plastic packaging and crackers litter the roads and cause anxiety attacks to elderly people and animals along with polluting the land. Sometimes, animals also consume such litter resulting in their death.
