Increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can create a huge hole in the ozone layer which can actually perish the existence of life on Earth. Moreover, loss of tigers can cause a major disturbance in the food chain. All this is actually happening. The environment is in grave danger, seriously. And it is happening because of the activities of human beings.

But why should you care?

No matter how lazy you are, you can’t live in a dump. Accept that. If the environment deteriorates, you won’t be able to post stories on social media saying ‘Beautiful weather’. Neither will multiple air conditioners beat the heat. Forget about luxuries and cool electronic gadgets because there will remain no place to dump. If you want all of it, start caring for it.

Your children and their future generation i.e., your lineage, are yet to enter this world. They are yet to experience its beauty. But if the environment keeps degrading, they won’t be able to do so. And they will blame you for it, for obvious reasons. So, you must care.

Also, Earth is your home. It is where you have created so many memories and will be creating many more. Its beauty enriches the experience of your life. But to create such memories, to have fun and experience its beauty, Earth needs to be fit. The environment should be protected well. Hence, you must care.

Remember, a Superhero must care!

You don’t have to possess superpowers to become a Superhero. There are many simple ways you can follow to save the environment and yet become one. As a student, this scope widens much more for you. Here’s what you can do:

• Start following environment-friendly practices. You will find a huge list on the internet for the same.
• Stop using plastic.
• Don’t litter on the roads. Take that effort and use a dustbin.
• Switch off lights wherever unnecessary.
• Save water.
• Prefer public transport for travel.
• Use your talent to spread awareness.
• Encourage your family and friends to follow these practices as well.
